Testing and Metrology
The Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications in Banska Bystrica by means of its laboratories as parts of accredited
Section of Testing and Metrology offers services in the area of testing, metrology, calibration and special measurements in the range of
accredited and non-accredited activities. The Section of Testing and Metrology demonstrates the qualification to carry out tests and calibrations
independently and credibly through complying with requirements laid down in ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard.
The Section is focused on wide range of activities in the field of testing and metrology.
The Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications carries out accredited and non-accredited activities in its laboratories in following areas:
Accredited activities include

EMC testing of electric and electronic equipment,
-
calibrations of electrical values measurement equipment according to the subject of accreditation,

measurement of sources on electromagnetic fields and measurement of human exposure to electromagnetic fields,
-
complete tests of radio equipment,
-
tests of analogue and digital telecommunication equipment, components and signalisations of telecommunication systems and networks.
Non-accredited activities include

conformity verification of technical security equipment with security standard,

verification of technical qualification of telecommunication equipment, signalling systems and network accessories connected to telecommunication networks in the Slovak Republic,

verification of technical qualification of radio equipment and components intended for RF signal distribution,

verification of technical qualification of electric and electronic equipment regarding EMC parameters, consultancy in the area of electric and electronic equipment regarding EMC,

verification of electric safety of electric and electronic equipment,

assistance concerning process of declaration of conformity with technical regulations,

assessment of DVB-T receivers,
-
calibrations of electrical values measurement devices beyond the range of accreditation,

consultative, research and development activities, education and cooperation in the area of standardisation.
